What is The OCR?
It is a way for you to support our Confederate heritage, which is now under attack The OCR formed in 1993 to aid and further the cause of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, and to support all endeavors sponsored by the SCV.
The Order of Confederate Rose Chapter 12, The Blue Ridge Bells, is an independent support group to the Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 1860 the Blue Ridge Rifles.
We assist the Camp 1860 with their historical, educational, benevolent, and social functions. Special emphasis is placed on the preservation of Confederate symbols. As there are few rules and restrictions to stifle the creativity of its members, each Society is free to focus on the activities important to its members and our camp along with supporting their efforts on the state and national levels.Each state society has its own by laws and standing rules, we follow the Georgia State by-laws and rules.
We are a nonprofit, nonracial, nonpolitical, and nonsectarian organization.
If you would like to join the Georgia Society of Order of Confederate Rose you need only a sincere desire to preserve and promote our Southern Heritage, our Southern way of life and to support the SCV. The organization is open to all males and females, ten years of age and older, regardless of ancestry. The OCR does not compete with the United Daughters of the Confederacy or any other genealogical organization. You do not have to prove ancestral lineage.
